Professional Experience

Technical Writing

• Converted to FrameMaker 26 manuals that are part of a bigger specifications library for a national railroad association and manage the quarterly/yearly updates for both libraries. I manage all phases of publication for these manuals, including printing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Researched and wrote six feature articles about control room design for an architectural firm. The first article submitted was chosen by Hydrocarbon Processing magazine to be a feature article.
• Wrote an award-winning quality assurance manual for an industrial printing company.
• Converted several 800-page manuals written in FrameMaker to HTML for a corporate intranet. Users find these online manuals much easier to use than the bulky hardcopy versions.
• Managed all phases of development of an award-winning user guide and accompanying online help for a medical management software program.
• Wrote, indexed, and edited several procedure manuals and user guides for a managed-health-care organization's nationwide conversion to a new operating system. I was the only contract writer on the team who was asked to return after the conversion project was completed.
  Wrote an operator’s guide for a new desktop color printer. My index was rated “the best index I’ve ever reviewed by the Manager of Human Factors.
